The first time Dad rode in an ambulance, he was living on his own and fell. His fall monitor activated EMS. He hit his head and wasn't able to answer any questions the EMTs or the ER staff asked him. We didn't have any of his medical information organized in a way that would support the emergency staff in giving him the best are and contacting his family. That incident scared me. It inspired me to create the Refrigerator Emergency Kit. It contains all the information a healthcare provider would need in an emergency (or even on a routine doctor visit), all in one file that's quick and easy to grab and go. EMTs are trained to look for medical info, but if it's not readily available, they simply transport the patient to the hospital with nothing. Everyone should have this, especially aging parents ... and including you! If you haven't already got your FREE Refrigerator Emergency Kit, here is the link to download it: https://trishajacobson.kit.com/eda736e078 Please, please, please, share this email with anyone you think might need it ... especially those with aging parents living on their own. By the way, Dad is back home and doing well. And I'm feeling inspired to share the link for this kit to everyone! Take good care, Trisha |

This week, mine showed up in a Facebook memory, an old T-shirt, and something about a tomato.. I just needed to begin. This week’s reflection is about procrastination, synchronicity, and what can happen when we give ourselves a few focused minutes to start. You can read it here: When the Universe Sends You a Sign With love,Trisha
Hi, If you're new here, welcome! If you've been here for awhile, you may have noticed I’ve missed two weeks of blog posts. The truth is, sometimes life simply gets too full. Responsibilities pile up. People need us. Paperwork needs handling. Travel happens. Illness happens. Emotions move quietly, or not so quietly, underneath it all. And eventually, the body starts telling the truth. This week’s reflection is about exhaustion, slowing down, and learning to listen before we completely lose...
Hi, This week’s reflection is about taking care of others, guilt, exhaustion, and the quiet permission to take care of yourself too. Read the full post here:https://www.amatterofmagic.com/blog/everything-is-being-handled-so-why-cant-i-rest#/ With love, Trisha
