Self-care is not a detour


Hi,

I headed north with a plan to reconnect with some people I love and finish writing my book while enjoying a lakeside retreat.

Once I got here, something in me exhaled.

Instead of pushing to meet my deadline, I found myself staring at the lake, listening to the loons, spending time with people I love, letting my mind wander, and remembering that rest is not the opposite of progress. That being fully present might just be the very thing that allows the next chapter to take root.
